Well August has come and gone and as I look back I’m so thankful at what God did and the memories I was able to make. I gave my first Toastmasters speech and all glory goes to God as He used my voice to impact others through my story of an empty bucket. My best friend graduated from nursing school and I had the opportunity to celebrate with her! I’m SO proud!!! I bought a new pair of running shoes and ready to start training for the marathon I never ran. I spent a fun filled week in ATL dreaming and planning for EBM and sat around the dinner table with my EB girls while planning out our year. So excited for what is to come!
Now it’s September and even though I’m a little late on my goals, I’m ready to dive in and make this month count! It’s never too late to make your goals. Start today. Start now and give September everything you’ve got!
-Read: Sun Stand Still and Orphan Justice
-Attend the KGM World Connect Conference in Newport Beach, California with some amazing people. I LOVE what they are all about : Passion, Priority, Placement
-Keep my little man (the little boy I babysit) for an entire week while his parents go on a cruise
-Watch one of my beautiful friends get married to the man of her dreams (My first Indian wedding! Im excited!!)
-Attend a tracheostomy camp at work for training. This month I want to work on gaining skills to better care for our babies who have a tracheostomy.
-Launch a new part of EB: Details coming soon!!
-Be in bed by 10pm every night except for the weekends. I haven’t been getting adequate sleep and I want to be more intentional this month about REST. It’s not only important to our physical health but our spiritual health as well.
-Work on my second Toastmasters speech
-Make cookies for my neighbors down the street, just because!
Probably one of the greatest things I want to work on this month is learning to submit my heart fully and completely to the Lord. I want to allow myself to ‘feel’ and allow Jesus to do whatever He is doing. May I fix my eyes on His heart more fully, trusting and believing His promises will come. I want to walk in full confidence that “everything is perfect in His time.” I not only want to fall so in love with Him but understand His heart more towards me. I want to WAIT and fully GROW so that I can be well prepared and fully equipped to bear the greater promise God has for my life. I’m going to commit to writing more, reading as much as I can, and making time for just Jesus and I even if that means taking some stuff off the calendar and canceling events. In our schedules and daily life, He has to be priority.
It’s easy to write all these things down and the next morning forget what you wrote the day before because life gets busy. You get distracted. You don’t feel like doing anything. BUT growth comes with sacrifice, commitment, time, and submission. It’s spending time with the Father even when you don’t feel like it. It’s giving up and letting go of the things your heart so desperately wants to hold on to. It’s releasing control and trusting what you can’t see. It’s knowing God is working out the details of your life in the moments you don’t understand. God has been taking me on a journey, working in and through my heart, pushing me to my limits, and teaching me how to trust Him fully. He doesn’t want us to trust Him halfway while holding onto what we can see. BUT at the point when we fully let go and allow Him to work, the impossible dreams and greatest desires of our heart will come according to His will.
Happy September Friends!! Make it count!
